Pebi, what are they?

Pebu (pronounced Peh-booh) or Pebi in plural (pronounced peh-bee) are little draconic creatures. They come from eggs and and can show physical traits depending on where the egg formed or how their upbringing has affected them. Pebi are highly intelligent, able to create social structures, read and write and have complex feelings and desires. Their little paws are called pepipulators.

Pebi have complex personalities that derive from their quirks or personality traits. Some can be stoic and brave whereas others tend to hide when danger shows up and prefer the cozy embrace of a hearthstone and reading a book. Depending on their major personality trait they can come with an innate desire to achieve something specific, it could be that they want to find an arcane forgotten book and add it to their library, or they wish to prove that they are braver than a wyrm and vanquish it in combat. Whatever their goal it is up to you the handler to help them achieve the best that they can be.

Pebi can eat a wide range of food although most of them prefer to eat non-meat ingredients there a few who love eating meat, but there are no carnivore only pebi. Most common pebi food includes the Red Crystalberry, Chobi Fruit and the Pembi Bread. These are accepted by most pebi, unless they are allergic them. These foods are mostly eaten by pebi and not humans due to vitamin concentrations found in them can cause severe problems, however nutritional compounds derived from them can be synthesized for human consumption.

Pebi food. This includes the red crystalberry which has a glass-like structure that only the pebi can chew through. The chobi fruit a super ultra sweet fruit that can cause diabetes on humans when consumed regularly and the pembi bread, a coarse but nutritious grain that pebi love.

These little creatures cannot die. If faced with a life threatening event they will shrink and teleport elsewhere. This phenomena is called Telepepiportation. How do they find a safe place to teleport to? No one knows for sure. Even though they are for all intents and purposes immortal, they can still get ailments or minor wounds, like a flu or scratches that causes them discomfort.

As pebi are very intelligent (there can be exceptions) they can learn up to 34 skills (more will come in future updates). These skills can range from playing an instrument, dancing, singing, reading, writing, athletics, swimming up to brandishing a weapon to defeat a foe. All these skills are learnt at pebi school. Higher upgrades for the school allow for new skills to be taught, higher levels in skills require mentors you can hire from people you make friends with in town.
